Hi! I'm Lauren Ault, and my creative journey started with yearbook layouts and a camera in hand. It evolved into a career in graphic design and marketing—and now into freelance work serving the Pittsburgh area, blending strategy, storytelling, and photography.

My Creative Journey
High School:
I fell in love with layout design and photography as Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook.
Freshman Year of College:
I continued working on the yearbook and discovered my passion for PR and client-focused work.

PR Class:
I realized that designing layouts and newsletters was a real career path.
Major Shift:
I switched to graphic design and eventually transferred schools for better opportunities.
Junior & Senior Years:
I developed strong design skills under the mentorship of amazing professors, especially Dr. Strahler (social media strategies) and Dr. Keppel (design principles).
Senior Year Internship:
I worked as a Graphic Design Specialist at a print shop, where I learned that design isn't always graphical, but it's always essential. I gained invaluable print production experience that has proven incredibly valuable in my design career.
Marketing Manager in Manufacturing:
I gained experience designing for a technical audience, focusing on accuracy and technical advertising in print and digital formats.
Marketing Coordinator in HVAC/Plumbing:
I designed content for social media, billboards, radio, and commercials, balancing creative vision with technical precision.
Community College Graphic Designer:
I gained valuable experience managing client relationships, refining designs for print materials, ads, and sub-identity logos.
Freelance Goals:
Now, I’m pursuing freelance projects in the greater Pittsburgh area to bring more flexibility and balance to my work and personal life, while continuing to deliver high-quality designs.
